The information we provide in relation to our professional fees are for the purpose of giving our clients a general understanding of our fees.
Please note our fees are exclusive of VAT at 20% and disbursement costs such as third-party fees (i.e. counsel, surveyors, medical experts, police, interpreters, Land Registry, legal expenses insurance).
We will advise our clients about any disbursements which may be charged. Our fixed fee charges will depend on the circumstances and complexity of your case and the amount of time we expect to spend. Our clients will be advised on this at our initial meeting.
If it later appears that the case is more complex our clients may be asked to pay further fee.

Undisputed Debt
These costs apply where the claim is in relation to an unpaid invoice which is not disputed and enforcement action is not needed. If the other party disputes the claim at any point, we will discuss any further work required and provide with revised advice about costs if necessary, which could be an hourly rate.
Our fee is based on an hourly rate of £300 plus VAT.
It will take an average of 5 hours to obtain judgment in default and the court fee is 5% (4.5% if lodged online) of the sum claimed.
If payment is received after the initial letter before action you can expect to pay £500 plus VAT plus the court fee.
If payment is received after the judgment in default the fee is £1500 plus VAT plus the court fee.

Matters usually take 5-20 weeks from receipt of instructions from you to receipt of payment from the other side, depending on whether or not it is necessary to issue a claim.
Further to judgment, if payment is not forthcoming an enforcement action may be needed. If instructed to do so the matter will be transferred to the High Court for enforcement for which there is a court fee of £66 and the time to enforce is an average of 3 hours and the fee will be in the region of £800 plus VAT. .

FULL ESTATE ADMINISTRATION
We can help you deal with the full estate administration.
What is involved?
All of the work required to complete the probate: Provide you with a dedicated and experienced probate solicitor to work on your matter.
Our fee includes the followings;

On average, estates that fall within this range are dealt with within 3-6 months.
Typically, obtaining the grant of probate takes 4-8 weeks. Collecting assets then follows,
which can take between 2-4 weeks. Once this has been done, we can distribute the assets, which normally take 2-4 weeks.
How much does this service cost?
The price will depend upon the level of experience of the relevant fee earner and the value and complexity of the estate. The price can vary and can be charged on a fixed fee basis, fee percentage (usually between 0.5% to 2.5% is industry standard for Solicitors although banks can charge significantly more) or on an hourly rate basis but typically our fixed fees for Full Estate Administration work start from:

GRANT ONLY
We offer a “Grant only” service too. This is a low cost way of us taking the responsibility for obtaining the Grant of Probate (or Grant of Letters of Administration where there is no Will) on your behalf, and you can thereafter deal with the estate administration yourself.
What is involved?
All of the work required to extract the Grant:
Provide you with a dedicated and experienced probate solicitor to work on your matter
Identify the legally appointed executors or administrators and beneficiaries
Accurately identify the type of Probate application you will require
Obtain the relevant documents required to make the application
Complete the Probate Application and the relevant HMRC forms
Draft a legal oath for you to swear
Make the application to the Probate Court on your behalf
Obtain the Probate and securely send copies to you

On average, estates that fall within this range are dealt with within 1 month. We can
usually submit the application to the Probate Registry (for non-taxable estates) within 2 weeks.
